mattp Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 Stubai Ice picks, ca 1990. Six "extreme" picks, tube adze, and snow shovel attachment for a stubai FKW hammer. Free if someone can use them. Quote
dirtwigle Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 I might have a use for these. I will need to dig through the closet to find out. Is this the green and purple axe? I think I still have one. :: Quote
mattp Posted October 22, 2006 Author Posted October 22, 2006 I don't know what axe they fit. They belonged to Larry Kemp, and following his death a few years ago some other friends of his picked through his gear and took what they wanted, leaving these behind. Looking at the other gear in the collection, including Foot Fangs, 1st generation friends, and sawn off pieces of conduit for retreat anchors, I'm guessing the tool they fit may even be as old as 1985. They have a threaded attachment. Quote
dalfollo Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Matt - I have two of those axes and I actually need some picks...my others are getting used well, and trhey are hard to find....I would love to have the chance at them. They should be for use with a Stubai Tirol FKW Ice pick (one was yellow and blue with an extendable shaft, the other a shorter pick with a knuckle saving curve)- The picks should have a kind of conical end with threads on the inside...the adze should circular w/ male threads....the shovel should have a cone shape and threads as well. Please let me know what I would need to do to help find these a great home...you can reach me at stephen.dalfollo-daley@wellsfargo.com Quote
