ncascademtns Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Climb: Mt. Adams-Mazama Glacier Date of Climb: 8/20/2006 Trip Report: Did Mazama Glacier over the weekend. Very do-able this late in the season. Enough of the report. I promised the gal at the Historic Trout Lake Country Inn to put in a plug for her. If you think the greasy food joint on the corner next to the gas station is the only place to eat in town, you should check out the Country Inn. It is located just accross the street down the road from the ranger station. The place was empty but the food was excellent. Gear Notes: Normal Stuff Approach Notes: Straight FWD Quote
dinomyte Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Don't knock The Logs. Nothing like a greasy burger and a cold pitcher of Rainier after a good climb! Quote
Erin Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I know you said the normal stuff but I just want to verify because I am bringing a newbie up this weekend. Ice axe and crampons? I would think it's just a long hike at this point... Quote
dinomyte Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I was there in July and i took an ice axe and crampons. Didn't use the crampons at all (and I was wearing snowboarding boots). I always like to have my axe, just in case. Quote
