North Face of NW Ridge, Mt. Adams

Anybody ever done this route? How are the conditions up there, on the north side? Thanks for any info.

I was up on Adams Glacier Sunday and we were on the toe of the Glacier by sunrise. As we didn't see you I assume you did it Saturday or VERY early. Just wanted to know if you encountered any rockfall?

Turtle, we did the route on Saturday. We first saw two rocks go whizzing down the route before we got on it. One rock while on route.

Hey, if you followed the tracks from the glacier to the summit, did you see that hole by the wand with yellow tape, about a quarter mile from the summit? That was Mr. Crevasse saying hello to Mr. Pencil Pusher.

Didn't see much up high as we were in and out of the clouds for a while, and had a hard enough time finding the N ridge. After descending it I almost wish we hadn't. Yuck!

Thanks for the post. I saw the route from a distance the other week, and it was looking rather dirty. Glad you made it and had a good time.

Some time ago, I heard/read someone refer to this as the "Givler Route" (in honor of the late Al Givler, who led the first ascent), a lot less of a mouthfull than "North Face of the Northwest Ridge". Jeff Smoot calls it something else different in his book as well to add to the mess. But I wonder why the name Givler Route never stuck?

Heck yeah, that's alot easier to say. That's what I'll be calling it then. Maybe add a little mystery to it...
