Know_Fear Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 Hi, I'm looking for info about Glacier Peak access. I'm aware of the road closures I'd like to understand how much of a slog it would be - say this weekend. I'm tired of waiting for the political machine. Anyone been there in the last year or two? Anyone done the White Chuck Gl. or Bingley Gap approaches? Any other options? What's the suffer factor? Quote
Mal_Con Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 I went up Brecca Peak above Round Lake this weekend and got good looks at Sloan and Glacier. Bigley Gap is free of snow but you run into it about half way to the round Lake cutoff Round Lake is frozen and snow goes down toabout 4600' on north side and 5500' south side. Lost Creek Ridge is entirely snowcovered. The Sitcum Route is in fine shape but I could see no tracks due to closures. Sloan is in much better shape than last year but the River is extreemly high making access difficult to impossible Class 2 water. Lost Creek Ridge or Whitechuck Glacier would be very long approaches with lots of postholing. Quote
