kamatz Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 (edited) This post is from Kamatz's wife: Attention parents of little climbers between the ages of 8 and 12! I am pursuing my doctorate Psychology (climbing on the side) and am looking for families who are willing to participate in my dissertation research. My study actually has nothing to do with climbing but is about how children cope with experiences with community and school violence and how we as parents can help our children gain the skills necessary to deal with these unfortunate but all too common experiences. Participation in the study lasts approximately one hour and I’m paying $25 and have a small toy for the children (hey, no stealing someone else’s kid for this study…must be your own). I’d like to tell you all about the study and maybe even set up a time for you and your kid to come in to my office. There are many options for appointment times, including after school hours and weekends. Please email me at sekerns@u.washington.edu if you are thinking you might be interested (please note that I cannot guarantee the confidentiality of any information sent by email) or call me at (206)218-3057. Appointments are scheduled at our Fremont office (just north of downtown Seattle). **Your family’s participation in this study is confidential and the report that I write will discuss general trends across all families and contain nothing specific about your family (even if you are really interesting!).
