Anyone with experience with this ski? I'm looking for a powder ski for 65% lift served all mtn/backcountry and 35% yo yo. From looking around the Janak seems to fit the bill. Does anyone know much about these boards? Any other ski I should be looking at? I'm planning on using Freerides and a beefy boot (Denalis or equivalent)

Have you skied any other Atomic Skis. They mostly went through a rebranding more than anything. I believe that the Janak is the TM-x with new graphics. It skis like it anyways. If you are a fairly aggressive skier, you should be fine. In my experience, get these the next size down from what you first think. I would usually ski a 184 in this one, but the 177 is way better for me.

yeah if I bought skis right now I would get the Volkl Karma, but the retail price on Volkls is absurd.

There have been some good prices floating around on Atomic TM:X's, if you can stand that blue and yellow disgrace of a topsheet. But I guess style isn't everything is it

I thought the "kongur" was the new TM-X (which was the new R:ex/TM:ex/10ex etc).

That may be CC, I'm having a hard time of keeping everything straight. The Januk is the replacement for the Teledaddy. I think atomic only has about 2 or 3 new skis on the table, the rest are all rebranded.

BD did a good job on their graphics this year, The crossbow is way cooler, the havoc is rad, except for a subliminal alien face on the shovel, the ethic remains the same, which is sweet.

They look like rave leftovers. The same as last year except "fuzzier" and "rader"

I think the coolest top sheet this year goes to K2's new fatty. They have a clear strip down the center showing off the wood making it look like the wood stringer on a surf board. thumbs_up.gif

Igneous my man, Igneous.

Of course at $10/mm waist width they make Volkls look affordable

I've never skiied Atomics before. Right now I have Bandit XX for inbounds and Tua Big Easies for A/T. I'd like to get something more floaty and less snappy than the XX and more floaty and less noodly than Tuas.

Other skis I'm looking at are the T4s (heavy?), K2 Mt Bakers (too much like the Tuas?), the G3 Reverend (too much $$$?) and the K2 Hippy Stinx (too much ski? hard to mount skins? not suitable for AT? Maybe I just like this one for the graphics)
