tinsley Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 I heard about all the webbing being cleaned off the ridge. Does anyone know if it has been replaced? I'm trying to decide how much to bring. also, for you whove done it, one rope or two for the rap? thanks Quote
Alpinfox Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 If you descend the climbing route, bring one rope and no tat. It's too low-angle to do effective two-rope raps and I'm sure there is plenty of slingage. If you go down the SW face you might consider two ropes though it has been done with one. In that case, I would bring enough tat for a few stations (though you probably won't need it there either). Quote
fgw Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 PM Jim T. Think he did it a few days ago if you want more specifics. Quote
Jim_T Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 tinsley - there is still webbing on the ridge. We didn't need to add any for the descent, although we did add a biner to one of the stations. Two ropes makes the descent faster, since you can rap directly down into the Great Notch rather than downclimbing or rapping the heather slopes. But Alpinfox is right - it can be done with a single rope as well, with more downclimbing. Quote
