mle Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Does anybody know of any good (easy to follow, not super strenuous) day hikes in the Washington Pass area that would be suitable and fun for a couple of not-very-experienced hikers who are unfamiliar with the area? I would like to make a good recomendation to somebody from out of town. Thanks! Quote
Mr._Natural Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 kangaroo pass. start at hairpin, follow trail on right side of the creek. you do have to make your way across some talus fields. not that crowded. of you want to go to a lake there are cutthroat and blue. crowded. web page Quote
Freeman Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Maple Pass loop from Rainey Pass PCT to Cutthroat Pass from Rainey Pass Cutthroat Pass from Cutthroat Lake trail head (with a stop at the Lake) Blue Lake from Washington Pass Blue Pk Col (SEWS SE buttress) from Washington Pass (Blue Lk trail) Kangaroo Pass from switchback (not at or near Wa Pass) Nice hikes at Harts Pass Nice short hikes at Sun Mountain Many hikes up the Twisp River Many of these require parking passes Quote
chelle Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Another pretty easy hike is Goat Mountain out of Mazama. Great views and the guy at the lookout is a hoot. Quote
marylou Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I think the nicest one in the Wa Pass area is Blue Lake. Very pretty and super easy hike. Quote
MisterMo Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Tootle on over to Hart's Pass (not so very far) and take the PCT south to Grasshopper Pass. Pure unfucked heaven..... Quote
