Avalanche Canyon above Lake Constance..snow??

I was wondering if anyone has been past Lake Constance recently to avalanche canyon (I think thats what it's called) and if so, is there any snow left in the canyon?

I will be up there early Sept and the info could affect my travel plans.

Also, this is my first post...great site, fantastic resource.

I haven't been up there recently, but the snow is virtually certain to be all gone by this date. Even more so by early September.

I was in the lower middle portion about 2 months ago and there were two extreemly small patches left. Im sure snow is non-existant this time of year, in that area.

Thanks for the timely response! I will possibly rethink the route as I am taking a small group with me.

I climbed Constance on Friday (8/19/05) and there were just a couple small patches of snow on the main route. I didn't need my ice axe...in fact it was only in the way on the trail when you had to scramble under fallen trees. I bypassed the terrible traverse below the snow. No drama.
