noblesavage Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 I'm thinking of doing the Wonderland Trail again for the fifth time (it's been some years since I've done it), and I'm considering just using a couple of Polarguard coats (one WIld Things and one MontBell) along with a bivy bag and a sleeping pad and just skipping the sleeping bag. I also plan on leaving the stove, pots, etc. behind and just using cold food, and doing the whole thing in four days; five at the most. Any thoughts on this? Quote

He's done it in three days (without running and without support). He even brought a stove- one made out of a Pepsi Can. Quote
noblesavage Posted July 20, 2005 Author Posted July 20, 2005 Yeah, when I did it before, I carried so much unneccesary crap it was amazing. Now I don't think I need much more than a day pack and food, since the trail's a freeway. I could probably keep the pack weight under 15-20 pounds and do it in trail running shoes instead of boots... catbirdseat Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 You can do it that way for sure. With a 15 lb pack you don't need boots. Tennies are the way to go. Quote
