edcooper Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Does anyone have information on a good approach to St. Peters Dome, other than just parking along the road and charging up the rain forest hillside towards it? Quote
wayne Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 Ed! What the hell are you headed to the Vatican fer? Really though it has been a while sice going there but it tends to go up to the right hand side of the thing . It has been ravaged by land slides but you can get there w/o too much trouble. Are you actually thinking of climbing the damn thing?? A word of warning, Layers of that shite fall of over the years, I know I was on route but there was no sign of pin scars and the placements are tight expando. The free climbing up high is desparate , loose, mossy, and unprotectable. It is a very difficult endeavor. When I did it it was 94, it hadnt been climbed since 78!! the webbing was completely rotted off the anchors ,all fix gear was loose, what little there was is mostly railroad spikes! Good luck to you, Sir Quote
