patrickmcc Posted June 7, 2005 Share Posted June 7, 2005 My partner & I are planning on taking a shot at Ptarmigan Ridge the weekend of 6/24, and decending the Emmons. Can anyone tell me how long a hike it is from White River to the start of the climb? Looks like quite a haul. What other options are there? Chriznitch Posted June 7, 2005 Share Posted June 7, 2005 hey Patrick, It's quite a haul from whiteriver to the ridge. I always thought the liberty ridge approach was brutal, let alone ptarmigan! Try your best to arrange a car shuttle from mowich lake--this approach is much easier. If not, plan an extra day or two to cross the many glaciers and ridges from whiteriver. however your descent will be cake! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Find someone you know, tell them they get an all expenses paid trip to Rainier and all they need to do is be at Whiteriver around the time when you finish!
