Juan Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 Has anyone been up to the Cascade Pass parking lot in the last month and looked at the CJ Couloir. By any chance has this piece of shit gully filled in after last summer's huge melt? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated, John Sharp Quote
Colin Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 Yo Juan, I biked up to the end of the road a couple weeks ago, and at the time the road was completely snow-free all the way to the end (but gated at Eldorado Creek, and with one landslide blocking the road for cars around milepost 21.5 or so). The entire lower half of J'Berg's NE Buttress was snow free! A sad sight for January... Perhaps the CJ Couloir was barely continuous, deep in the back of narrow gully (I've never been up it, so it's hard for me to say for sure), but as far as I could see it was still not continuous. Juan Posted February 8, 2005 Author Posted February 8, 2005 Hey Colin: Thanks for the update. It's too bad the gully isn't just on big nice firm snow ramp right now. Thanks for the report! John Quote
