Gaper_Jeffy Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 Like within the past week. Can you drive all the way to Cloud Cap w/ 4 wheel drive but sans snowtires (mine aren't installed yet)? What's the snow coverage on lwr Cooper Spur (below tie-in-rock) like? Could you ski from there to the TH? Any photos? I'm not going to ask what conditions are like on Snowdome as I already know conditions are always perfect there. However how far could one ski down the Langille Crags gully? How about down the Eliot creek gully? And most importantly: if I ski into a thinly-bridged crevasse on Snowdome will my cell phone still work to call for a rescue? I'm not sure I'm going to get out this weekend, just curious. cross-posting from Oregon forum Quote
Gaper_Jeffy Posted November 17, 2004 Author Posted November 17, 2004 If someone could just post a recent photo of the northside of Hood from 35 that'd be perfect. Quote
marcus Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 on monday i drove all the way to the trailhead without 4wd - most of the road was bare and easily passable cooper spur was primarily neve/late season snowpack with sporadic shallow powder drifts however, it was snowing like a banshee above 7,000ft - albeit horizontally sorry, no photos Quote
Gaper_Jeffy Posted November 17, 2004 Author Posted November 17, 2004 Thanks for the response Marcus. So one could ski from say tie-in-rock to CC right? Quote
