cusmx5 Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Climb: McClellan Butte-standard trail Date of Climb: 9/5/2004 Trip Report: Nothing really special to report except bees. Encountered numerous people who had been stung. The little devils seem to be putting lots of nests in the middle of the trail. The worst one is at about the 4000' level. There is a tree with a small wooden plaque with the number "3" on it. The nest is about 50 yds beyond. Seems to be the last person who gets all the stings, so be aware. Quote
Bug Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 I was up there a couple weeks ago and got hit on the back of my calf by what felt like stinging nettle but there wasn't any around. There were about ten welts too. Quote
