So I get this call yesterday afternoon. It's Mike telling me that he wants to head out and try the N. Face of Greybeard at night. I tell him he's fucked in the head and that we should go drinking instead. I called him again at 7:30pm and tell him that the alcohol awaits. I get drunk and he never shows up.

 

Turns out, he went out to Greybeard, left the trailhead at midnight, and got 3/4 of the way up the face before he turned around due to shitty ice and rockfall.

 

The moral of the story is that if you don't step up to the plate, you'll never strike out.
