Keven Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 I spent summer of 2001 in Colorado doing top-roping(what I could afford). I'm 19, live in Florida now, and am the president of the climbing club at Florida Atlantic University. I will be in Colorado again this coming summer. I would like to enter into an apprenticeship, but I do not know who to contact. I'm even considering moving out west if I can find an apprenticeship(as there is no good climbing in FLA). I love climbing and would like to find an experienced climber looking to pass on his/her knowledge. I'm a handyman and could do housework (electrical, plumbing, ect.) and mechanical work and would be willing to do any such work for anyone willing to take me on as an apprentice. I'm serious about climbing and want to learn as much as I can. After college or in the summers, I would like to go climb around the US and in other countries, but I cannot afford it. Which is why I will work for anyone willing to take me on. If you're at all interested or have any info that could help, my email is nautica44@att.net . Thank you! Quote
jon Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 There are some Colorado people here but also check out climbingboulder.com Quote
cman Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 what kind of apprenticeship are you talking about? becoming a climber is not like becoming an electrician. Just save whatever money you can, move to boulder for the summer, get some crappy job, live like a skid and climb as much as possible, that is how you become a climber. Quote
