E-rock Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 Anyone have experience with this? I'm downloading winamp right now because I heard there's a plugin that will do the job. Is there I way to do it in NERO (my burning software)? Is there better freeware than the winamp diskwriter plugin? Off white you know about this stuff, any experience with Nero? Quote
Metalhead_Mojo Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 winamp will do that for you if you really want it to. i dont use nero so no idea there. go to http://www.mp3towav.net/ and get a converter, astalavista has a crack for it. you can convert formats (.mp3 into .wav etc...) and also change bitrates. once it is installed, you just right click on the mp3 file and click on "convert". even i can handle that. Off_White Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 You can definitely fluff up the mp3 into a wav with a cd as an intermediate step using Nero, but if you're trying to convert to .wav and keep it as a file on your hard drive, skipping the burning to a cd phase I think you'll need a different program. It's easy to burn to a cd using Nero, just drag the .mp3 into the file list and burn away. You may have to check a box labelled "normalize audio files." Then you can move the .wav file from the cd to your hard drive. But there must be a less clunky way to do it if you don't want the song on a CD... Also, I just use Winamp as a player, I haven't explored the plug in world with that software. Quote

E-rock Posted October 20, 2003 Author Posted October 20, 2003 Thanks off white. The winamp plug in sucks, if you try to convert multiple songs at a time it lumps them all into one big track, and it crops the end of the song for some reason. I already uninstalled. I just downloaded the db software, but if I can burn MP3 directly to audio using NERO that's all I need. I want to make audio CD's out of a huge pile of MP3's I got from a friend. Quote
