RobBob Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 It's true that controversy spurs interest around here, spices things up. When it comes to banning, however, shouldn't there be a little consistency and coolheadedness? When I read a moderator's rant that says he thinks while he's at it he'd like to ban people for pagetops, this reminds me of a hotheaded young manager in an office. You know, the kind of guy that explodes and overreacts so that people tend to avoid him and think he's a jerk. He's not really, he just needs to get more experience and get control of his emotions, and learn to be a little more mildmannered and consistent. Note: This isn't a statement about any particular moderator...I've seen this mode of operation from several. Yeah, it's true that if any of us don't like it here, we can take a hike. But it's also true that if moderators act like poor managers or dour schoolmarms, a bunch of us will lose interest and leave. Maybe that would be a good thing in some people's opinion. I don't think so. Quote
