Climbing Hood on Sunday and need to know if there is a good place to bivy above the ski lift. Is it safe to leave your tent and equipment while you summit

Thanxs...Peter

Yeah, man it is totally safe. I have done it a zillion times (well maybe 5 or 6) this year alone with no problems. Here are the spots I would recommend. Just below and to the climbers right of the top of the palmer cat track around 8400ft on the moraine, nice dry rocky tent spots. Or 500 ft directly above the lift at 9000ft at twin rocks. Or for the super motivated who wants a super short summit day camp at the top of triangle moraine at 9600ft on the rocks or snow. That is all.

Thanks for the beta on the bivy spot. I have never climbed Hood before. Flew over from Hawaii last week and did Rainier with a few guys, Nice to be back in the snow .

Doing Hood South side with a couple of newbies(good hikers but never climbed) Hope its not to steep for them.
