Here's a silly trivial question. I'm planning on going up Glacier Peak (Sitkum Glacier) this weekend and since it has a sizeable trail approach I was planning on wearing tennies and then switching to boots later on. What would be a good place to do the switch and cache the tennies on the way up? At Kennedy Hot Springs? Farther up? Is there a place farther up that's obvious enough that I won't walk right by my stash on the way down? Thank you!

If you are going both up and down the sitkum, take your tennis shoes all the way to boulder basin. It was pretty much snow free the entire way there a month ago, so it certainly is now. You'll be glad for the tennis shoes.

If you are going up by another route (which I would *highly* recommend; the sitkum is very boring to ascend), then I would cache your shoes at kennedy hot springs or the trail junction near there.

Don't know how much snow is still on the Sitkum approach. The camp is just below 6000' I think. So I'd cache them in your tent at camp. You may not need boots until after camp.
