Peter_Puget Posted June 11, 2003 Posted June 11, 2003 Last night I went to a store looking for the new David Sylvian/Dereck Bailey collaboration. Alas I think the market for such music is way too small for a store to stock. But I did see Mr. Bailey has a Drum and Bass record that TLG should probably go buy and then report back concerning its quality. I did however buy the CD In A Silent Way (Miles Davis 1969) and drove home excited as I haven’t heard it since the 80’s. WOW What an amazing record. Sounds like it was recorded yesterday. Three keyboards (Josef Zawinal, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea) Jon McLoughlin on guitar. Dave Holland on bass. Tony Williams on Drums! And don’t forget Miles himself. With all those egos there is an unbelievable amount of space between the instruments. GO BUY IT ON YOUR WAY HOME TONIGHT!!!!!] PP Quote
thelawgoddess Posted June 11, 2003 Posted June 11, 2003 REALLY? did you know seattle has a record store that only carries d'n'b? Quote
Peter_Puget Posted June 11, 2003 Author Posted June 11, 2003 DnD record is available! Not the Sylvian/Bailey disc. Which I am sure is not DND at all. By The way Dereck rules! He is kinda like the Fred Beckey of improvisational guitar. Quote
