klenke Posted April 24, 2003 Posted April 24, 2003 Anybody been up to the Barclay Lake Trailhead (Mt. Baring starting point) lately? Wondering just how far the road is open. T.H. is less than 2,500 feet, so maybe it is or maybe it isn't. Quote
ski_photomatt Posted April 24, 2003 Posted April 24, 2003 Is this the one? Road 6024 - Barclay, updated 04/23/2003 The road is closed to vehicle traffic .4 miles up from Hwy 2 due to washout. It is about 4 miles from the washout on the road to the Barclay Creek trailhead. Road updates for most of the roads in Mt. Baker Snoqualmie National forest are at http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/mbs/conditions/road_conditions_report.shtml Quote
klenke Posted April 24, 2003 Author Posted April 24, 2003 Hey thanks. That's what I needed to know. I guess we won't be climbing Gunn Peak then. Okay, Plan B...Plan B... Quote
klenke Posted April 29, 2003 Author Posted April 29, 2003 FYI: that washout a quarter-mile up the Barclay Lake Road (i.e., a quarter-mile from Hwy 2) is a pipsqueak. Just about any car with a reasonable amount of clearance could get over it. All it is is a small stream running across the road with a few erosional bumps to maneuver over and around. The road is not blocked by a barrier, cones, or anything. Quote
sverdina Posted April 30, 2003 Posted April 30, 2003 Ahh...but can the antique Civic make it across though?? Quote
