Guest Posted January 25, 2001 Posted January 25, 2001 Powell river (5 hrs up coast from Vancouver) has an incredible collection of road accessable big walls waiting for the adventuresome. Some routes have been done but the vastness is overwhelming to the few locals trying to develop it.More info at roughlife.com or email fce@prcn.org Quote
Big_Stones Posted February 4, 2001 Posted February 4, 2001 I checked out the web page. Ok beta. Could you put m in contact with someone who has done some routes or has scoped the area. The main things I'm interested in is steepness, the pictures make it look a little slabby, coarse I hope that it's just the camera angle. Is it in a wilderness area? ie. power drill concerns. I'm not educated on Canada's laws in wilderness areas, and how tall are these formations? Any beta will be gratefully accepted . Happy Nailing Big Stones Quote
Wallstein Posted February 6, 2001 Posted February 6, 2001 What is the concern over power drills? If you need a power drill to put up a bigwall it ain't worth it. Hand power is the power that should be used on bigwalls. Mike Quote
Big_Stones Posted February 6, 2001 Posted February 6, 2001 It was just a question I had. I have drilled my fair share of holes by hand and actually enjoyed it. I doubt that I would power drill up there since recharching the batteries would require solar power. I was just curious. Thats all. Big Stones Quote
BigWallBigBallsRocky Posted February 6, 2001 Posted February 6, 2001 Power drills are great for quick anchors and can't be beat. You'll see me up there with mine. Quote
