chalkball Posted March 14, 2003 Posted March 14, 2003 If anyone is planning a trip to Skaha this weekend, you might want to check before going... I was going to meet some friends up there this weekend, but they were turned back at the gate, the people who own the property that the parking is on are in the midst of an insurance dispute. Does anyone know more of the specifics on this? Has this been discussed here before? Is there a good local place in Penticton to check on closures? Also - is there alternate access to the bluffs? There is no parking in the neighborhood outside of the property... chad Quote
Skisports Posted March 14, 2003 Posted March 14, 2003 I was up there a few years ago and got about 5 grand worth of stuff stolen out of my car... It wouldn't surpise me if someone was sueing him for a similar issue The other reason is he has a hose right by the fruit stand and that water is comming staight from the lake and people were washing there fruit and filling water bottles with it soo he might be in trouble Quote
Dru Posted March 14, 2003 Posted March 14, 2003 There is NO alternate access to the bluffs. Info on insurance issue: http://casbc.bivouac.com This seems to happen every year. If you're up there, go cragging in Kelowna instead. Check by phoning Ray's Sports Den or look on www.skaha.org for updated details? Quote

Skisports Posted March 14, 2003 Posted March 14, 2003 I am just saying what the owner of the property said Quote
Norsky Posted March 15, 2003 Posted March 15, 2003 Or it comes from that pond right by the parking lot Quote

Dru Posted March 15, 2003 Posted March 15, 2003 I saw a picture in the Vancouver Sun yesterday of people swimming in the lake! Last week of March can be good conditions. Maybe a bit cold at times. Dont expect shorts & t shirt weather but better then than midJuly IMHO. Quote
