The_North_Face
Join Steve Goryl as he recounts his experiences as a key member of this notable 1994 expedition to Mt.Everest. This high-energy presentation of slides and video shows in great detail the labors involved in climbing the world's highest mountain. Prepare for fantastic images of the classic South Col climbing route with an emphasis on the environmental degradation that has occurred from years of mountaineering without an "Environmental Conscience." Members of this expedition, which included the late Scott Fisher, successfully demonstrated the need for all expeditions to be more proactive in "Leave No Trace" techniques. The great successes of this endeavor at high altitude demonstrate what can and should be done by all future expeditions to Mt.Everest. It gives the viewer an inspirational view of what can be accomplished. We will have some snacks and drinks also. Hope to see you there! Place: The North Face Seattle, 1023 1st ave. When: Friday, October 19th Time: 7:00pm Cost: FREE!
