  1. Hey, loving the sound of your gameplan! When is this happening? No point me getting all excited and introduced if its already happened... Regards, Ralph
  2. Hi Anne, just sent you a message regarding your ad looking for Smith climbers. Now seen this one, so also responding. I am flying from middle east back to States on March 3 but not heading back to Oregon immediately as I have a trip to Red Rocks organised for March 3 till 10th. Was then planning on heading back up to oregon and resuming my life... But if I have an excuse to postpone reality just a little longer I could be interested. Only problem for you is that I won't be around to plan your end of the adventure - and all my logistics will be in place as I'll already be there. Have been to RR and JTree before so happy to advise/assist whatever plans you may want to work on. Have been out of US since Nov so really need to minimise costs, so a thorough tour of RR and vicinity might be more to my liking. I'm breaking into the 5.10's trad and sport and am happy to do any of the classic easier 6,7,8 and 9's too. Hope to hear from you!
  3. I am also based right next to Smith and have a very good work schedule (plenty of time off) so will want to hit Smith often - but also other areas around the Bend area. I won't be back in the States until mid March, but I will keep you posted when I'm eager to get out... Regards, Ralph

  6. Someone picked up one of my Red coloured Dragon Cams at the tip of North Point last week, while we were setting up anchors overhead. I would love to be reunited with it as it is an essential piece in both my personal and instructional kit. Happy to give a financial incentive for its return. Thanks
  7. Hi I am wanting to add some bolts in a few places at Smith Rock, this week. Therefore I am looking for the contact details of "the development committee" appropriate for such action. I have heard the details are in the newer guidebook but I am not close to one of those so can't use that as a resource. Hope someone can help by providing me the necessary details... Thanks in advance

  10. Have given him your contact details so he can contact you directly. Hope it works out. Ralph
  11. Looking to do the LTF in July/Aug 2014 but in a very special way! I have no interest in paying the $3500 per person needed for the flight into the Cirque, but I am an adventurer, so accessing the Cirque via the Little, and then the South Nahanni rivers, for a week, doing the LFT, and then continuing along the South Nahanni for another week is exactly the adventure I am seeking. I am anticipating allowing a month in total, but if you are up for extra time to ensure a weather window in the Cirque, take axes/crampons too, we could do some alpine stuff (I´ve got the guide) while we wait for weather for the LFT. Simply for the amount of food and equipment we´ll need, I have been figuring on a gear raft - which I just happen to guide! Yes the trip´s got plenty of logistics that I have either already figured out (via a lot of planning and assistance from others), or is pending. If you would like to paddle and climb in one of Canada´s most pristine areas, get in touch. However, you must be solid 5.10c climbers (or above), and happy on grade 3 water.
  12. I know the perfect person for your request. I have contacted him to check if he´s available, and if he minds me giving you his details. I´ll get back to you asap if he has an opening.
  13. Would love to climb, am based 20minutes from Smith and though I work a ton during the season from April to Oct, I need my climbing, so will be eager to get out as often as it´s possible. Trad and sport, tens are great, weekdays are fine for me too, though so too are weekends.
  14. Hey there, am hoping for a shot on Denali in 2014 too. Have only a fairly rigid window of availability though, so you might not be able to match dates. I can only be available from mid-May till late Jun. I am doing a ski tour on the Harding Icefield prior to this and then the weather obviously isn´t ideal post this, so have already committed to another exped after this mid-July to end of Aug. Led 3 school groups up Kilimanjaro 5,895mtr in 2007. Led a group up Rainier last season, been in Chile and Argentina from the end of Dec 2012 till Feb 2013 getting a few peaks over 6,000mtrs (Ojos de Salado 6,893mtr (camped at 6,350), Mt Pissis 6,840mtr (camped at 6,200mtr solo), 3x attempts on Walter Penck 6,665mtr (couldn´t summit first time due to lack of acclimatisation, second time due to too much snow but carried over and bivvied solo at 6,500mtr), and third time due to logistical issues. Tres Cruces Sur 6,780mtr (couldn´t summit due to too much unconsolidated snow covering rock towers that create unstable snow bridges (there is an Argentinian dead in one as I write this), got to 6,200mtr (camped at 5,900mtr). Cerro Viento 6,100mtr. Am based in the Bend area during this coming summer, leading groups in the 3 Sisters, Washington, Jefferson areas. Would love to make my Denali goal a reality. Still in South America at the moment, so best to contact via here/email
  15. Hey there, I am planning a traverse across the Harding Icefield next spring - Seward to Homer - possibly being the first to finish with a sea kayak across the straight to Homer - thus a fuller traverse of the Icefield than is usually done. If you or your team are interested in joining I´d love to hear from you.
