We were up there about 6:00 Friday evening, we were going to climb Stuart Saturday but the smoke was terrible. We hiked up to Ingalls Pass (?) since we had come all the way out there but the smoke was so bad you could barely see across the valley looking south. The moon came out later and it looked like a slice of an orange hanging in the sky. You could actually taste the smoke in your mouth. I feel sorry for the people who live over there!
We bailed on the climb, the closer you get to the fires the worse the smoke is because there is no wind to blow the smoke away, it's just piling up.
