My friend and I retrieved an ice screw from the first pitch of the runnels on Sunday (4/3). The screw belongs to a group of two that bailed after rappelling off an ice screw on the first pitch. Send me an email if this is your screw and we will get it back to you. EMAIL: dochian @ uw dot edu

haha, I don't think it'd be worth your while. The pack has a large hole in it. Plus it had a clif bar in it, so I bet the mice have already torn through the pack. The phone is an old LG flip phone. Even if someone steals the pack, it's probably worth about 30 bucks due to how beat up/old the pack and it's contents are.

Left my old Red Cilogear 30L Worksack under a rock at Colchuck Lake due to being forced to descend the backside of Dragontail and not having the time/energy to hike an extra 9 miles to get the pack after we hitchhiked back to the Stuart Lake Trailhead. Won't have time to get it until next weekend and my phone is in it. It is on the very first boulder field under Dragontail and Colchuck; the boulder field by the beach that Colchuck Lake Trail leads directly into. About 3 min across the boulder field there is a HUGE cairn that's impossible to miss. There is a faint trail near this cairn. Walk further down this trail about 50 feet (plus or minus 30 feet) then turn left toward the beach into the boulder field. After going about 30 feet into the boulders, turn right. Walk another 20-50 feet and you will see my pack on your right under a large boulder. I put a big flat rock on top of it. I did not do a good job of hiding it. If you or anyone you know is hiking up there, I will exchange the pack for adult beverage(s) of your choice and quantity, and for some good karma. PM me or email me at docman2012 at g mail dot com if you have any info on the pack. Thanks!

Hey! Pretty sure I found your snow picket on the way down. It was in the snow right around white pass and it has your name on it. PM me about it.

Kind of late notice, but I'm looking to get out this weekend. I'm down for anything, just want to take advantage of the weather window. Possible climbs I've been wanting to do: NE Couloir Dragontail, El Dorado Peak, Mt Index. Enchantments are looking good, wouldn't mind doing some crag climbing either. In great shape, have some gear, but no car, but will definitely help pay for gas. Send me a text of give me a call: 314 - nine four one - nine oh 4 7 Ian

As of now the weather for this Friday is looking pretty good around the Enchantments and possibly in the North Cascades. Would anyone be up for some post-Thanksgiving climbing? I'd love to do something like NE Couloir on Dragontail or anything similar. I'd be down for something non-technical also. I'd also be down for some cragging if the temps are high enough. I have a rope, some draws, but no trad gear. Don't have a car either, but am more than willing to help pay for gas. I'm a strong climber and am in excellent shape. PM me if you're interested.

My partner and I left two carabiners and a sling on the summit of the tooth yesterday (May 12th). There was a group of Washington Alpine Club members on the summit with us and I believe one of the leaders may have grabbed them for us. Please PM me if you have any info.

Hey everyone, I'm still looking for a partner. Anyone interested? Weather is looking great.

I've been itching to get out and climb and weather this weekend looks awesome at the moment. I'm a strong climber and am in great shape. I've been hoping to do something big before winter's over, but I'm up for anything. I don't have a car but am very willing to pay my share in gas. PM if you need a partner this weekend. Ian

Anyone looking to get out this Saturday? I'm hoping to get some climbing in. Weather looks like it could possibly clear up around the Enchantments? So that could be fun if avy conditions are good. PM me if you need a partner and have any ideas. I'd be up for rock, snow, alpine, etc.

I'm looking to get out tomorrow (Sunday) or Monday. Avy forecast is looking pretty good for tomorrow, as is the weather. I'm in great shape and am a good climber. I do not have a car, but am more than willing to pay my share in gas. I was hoping to get on something like the West Ridge of the North Twin, but I am up for anything that conditions allow. I know it's late notice, but please PM me if you're looking to get out this weekend.

I know it's very late notice, but all of my climbing plans ended up not working out this weekend. If anyone wants to do anything tomorrow, Sunday, please send me a PM. I have personal gear, but not rope or trad gear/ice gear. I also do not have a car, but am certainly willing to pay my way in gas money.

Alright everyone, I am actually still in need of a partner after all. If anyone (even those above who posted) needs a partner still, I'm open.

I'm trying to get out this weekend. Ideally, I'd like to get on a big mountain in the North Cascades if weather and avy conditions allow. I 've gotten a fair amount of experience in the past few months since moving to Seattle and I'd be comfortable doing almost anything, so long as it's not way too technical. I have a decent amount of snow experience, and experience on a small glacier. I'd prefer to wake up early and do the whole climb in a single push, but I'd be down with camping also. At the moment forecasts are looking pretty good (especially Sunday) if nothing big changes, so please PM me if you want to climb this weekend. I'm free Friday night through Sunday night.

I'm looking to get some climbing in this weekend and Leavenworth has a pretty good forecast. I have lots of rock climbing experience (check out my previous posts for more details) but no experience in snow. Ideally, I would like to get out this weekend and do one of the easier snowy peaks like Dragontail or Colchuck, but I am honestly up for anything. I am knowledgable, competent and fit. PM me if you're interested.

well one of these, not both, haha

Cool this really helps. So I found a pair of Scarp Mont Blancs and La Sportiva Nepal Evos on sale. Sounds like these will fit most of my needs.

Thanks guy! This is really helpful.

I'm a rock climber new to the world of alpine and I'm debating on whether to get plastic or leather boots. From now until June I plan on doing alpine involving steep snow, glacier, and alpine ice. El Dorado and Colchuck I have possible plans for, and I'd love to get up Rainier before I have to leave Seattle for the summer. That being said, what kind of boots would you recommend? I'm leaning towards plastic since they are warmer and I would be able to use them throughout the winter, but leather might be better for some of the lower altitude Cascade peaks. I only want to buy one pair of boots if possible. What do you guys think?

I'm looking for someone who wants to do some alpine climbing this weekend. If you read my previous post, I do not have experience with snow, glacier travel so I'm looking for someone who wants to do an easier peak if weather permits. I was told Colchuck Peak by the Colchuck Glacier Route is a decent for someone like me. As I said on my previous post, I can lead 5.11's (can work through 5.12a), I just recently (last weekend) attempted a new trad route on Snoqualmie Mountain with a partner (following on trad, not leading though), I am in very good shape, and have read through Freedom of the Hills, so I am knowledgable of snow and glacier techniques. Just looking to get out and climb this weekend, preferably on an alpine route. Send me a PM if you want to get out and climb this weekend!

Hey guys, I'm now in Seattle and am having trouble finding a partner that is free on weekends. Anyone still up for some climbing? PM me

I have a few people that I have made plans with already, but if I have time or plans don't go through, I will keep you guys in mind. Ian

I'm moving to Seattle to attend University of Washington and I'm looking for a partner who has experience in mountaineering/alpine climbing (climbing in the Cascades). I am looking to get into mountaineering. I have a lot of sport climbing experience and I can lead and send 5.11's outdoors. I have led up to 5.12a outdoors (not sent though). I am a good and experienced belayer. However, I do not have experience in mountaineering and snow/glacier travel, although I have backpacked at altitude before. I have studied the Freedom of the Hills, so I am knowledgeable of a lot of the techniques involved in snow and glacier travel. I am in excellent shape, coming off of 4 years of varsity cross country and track. I need a partner who has experience, needs a strong, fit partner, and is willing to teach me some things. I have no annoying habits that I know of (I don't snore), I work hard and consider myself a pretty chill dude. I'll be in Seattle starting Sep. 20th. I have most of the gear I need, there's just a few winter items and gear I'll have to purchase once I'm in Seattle. Shoot me a message if you're interested.
