Hello
My husband and I would like to do some exploring in the remote Cordillera Apolobamba (Bolivia/Peru). We would like to team up for this (2 more people, preferably partners) since it is so remote. Our goal would be to climb some PD-AD's and to enjoy the area in general. Your goal could be anything you wish. If we climb/hike together it's great but if we split to do our own things it's okay too. The idea is to have someone else around to help if necessary.
We would be coming by car from South Brazil and could pick anyone up in La Paz. The idea would be to bring as much freeze-dry as possible since there is nowhere to supply this in La Paz and no food at all afterwards. There are mules, so I've read.
And to answer why I am posting this bid for partners on Cascade Climbers, I used to live in Portland before I married a Brazilian I met while climbing in the Cordillera Blanca. So, that's a round-about way to say that, yes, we have climbed before and are familiar with the Andes. We are not expert climbers (no Ragni route here!) so we stay away from vertical, mixed faces with much exposure but we'd watch you from camp and cheer you on if that's what you're into. Hikers are also welcome!
If you are interested in an adventure somewhere less civilized, please email me (onecalina@yahoo.com) as I do not check sites so often.
