  1. I have a climbing pass for this friday but nobody to go up with so i'm wondering if anyone would like to join me or maybe i can join a group? passes are sold out but hopefully there is somebody out there that already has a pass:) ~aruel
  2. ok, nobody's claimed this shoe either on craigslist or here. tomorrow it's going on ebay! (although i doubt anyone wants a single boot)
  3. yup; that's the one. went during nighttime, pulled over and picked it up. if i had the other one, i could sell the pair, but having only 1 boot kinda ruins it
  4. I've found somebody's boot! if it's your tell me about its colors (or model name) and size.
  5. thank you for the honest response:) i tried asking a couple assistants but i didn't get to know any of them too well. i'm interested in the second part of your post. do you think we could do the south side route; just the 4 of us? 2 guys have ice screws (1 long, 1 short each) and they have rope (they're the crazy ones who went up the mazama glacier), we all have belts of course. we're all ok starting at midnight, the trouble is just that the 2 guys with the screws dont really know how to use the. that's why we wanted somebody experienced who could set up anchors. ~thanks again
  6. Howdy, im a mazama BCEP graduate looking for a more experienced climber to attempt mt.Hood with. climbing season is near its end so id like to do it next week (plus, i have school off). I've summited st.helens once, and attempted shasta also once. i have 3 other BCEP graduates friends who'd be very happy to join so please let me know if you'd like to go up. we've gotten up to illumination rock but that's it. mazama climbs are hard to get into, particularly the mt.Hood climbs and none of us have gotten into any of our first choice climbs:( ~thanks! PS: here are our climb resumes me: summited st.helens (witer). attemped st.helens a second time and mt.Shasta (winter) sh: summited south sister and st.helens (late summer). attempted MSH and Shasta(winter) al: attepted Adams (winter, mazama glacier route) luk: attempted Shasta and Adams (winter, mazama glacier route)
  7. hey, i was trying to find a more experienced climber to take me up Hood but the guy i know is off to Colorado and he wont be back for a few weeks HOWEVER, he did say that i should find someone to take me up Hood within a couple of weeks else it'd be too dangerous. so...i think you going mid july is a bad idea. ~keep safe
  8. hey me and some friends are looking into doing this either the first or second weekend of May. it's not during the week as you wanted, but you'd be welcome to join us. PS: we are all BCEP students so while we may not be the most experienced folk, you certainly won't see us going up in jeans and tennis shoes.
  9. hey guys, i'm going to Huaraz too and i wanna climb a few diff. peaks and anyhows i'm wondering how to go at it. do i post and find a climb buddy who can go at the same time as me, or do i just go and hire a guide there?
  10. hey Z-man, i sent you a private message:)
  11. as you suggested i've just emailed him. i have bcep tomorrow night so i'm stuck in portland, but thrusday-friday i'd really like to do something:) ~i went up to saddle mountain today and it was nice because conditions were pretty bad (windy&snowy) and that made it seem like a climb rather than just a hike.
  12. sadly i just check NWAC and avalanche danger rose for wednesday...i guess it's not looking too good for a thrusday or friday summit. darn! this is my only free week!
  13. i have snowshoed around trillium lake twice (once at 8am, a second time at midnight! the 2nd time was far better; i like icy snow cuz i don't sink as much) and i've also gone snowshoeing, then made a snowcave and slept in it. i have no proper self arrest instruction, but i've glissaded before and stopped myself using a walking pole (i wasn't plannng on glissading so i didn't take the ice axe). and i've hiked quite a bit! i'm currently in BCEP (with the mazamas) but that won't be over until May and then i'll have classes (i'm a college student). and after my classes...i'm traveling abroad the day after finals X_X so i'd really like to get some climbing practice here before going to climb abroad (albeit their easy climbs).
  14. do you think i could do mt. adams (on the south spur route) either thursday or friday (either day, i'd start 1-2am). alternatively, i could climb to lunch counter thrusday night and then summit early the next morning! i checked avalanche forecasts and they apparently are gonna decrease after tuesday.
  15. thnx:) so what's a good mountain to climb this week?
