    The weather forecast looked good from afar, but now it seems to be settling in and deciding on high winds. Currently forecasted at 50mph Muir, 75mph summit, average winds (gusts of ~1.5x that).

    Certainly depends if you need rock and/or glacier gear. If not, you can get by much smaller. FWIW, I love my Altra 75... but I didnt pay $400 for it. At retail prices, there are some better values out there.
