  1. Had my ACL reconstructed in 2005. I was climbing within 7 months of the surgey. I actually feel like the reconstructed knee is my stronger now. The things I feel contribute to the awesome results are: 1. I went with a sports surgeon (the guy that fixes the AZ Cards knees). I think its important to have a surgeon that understands you want your knee back to 100% and quickly. 2. I took the option where they "harvest" a bit of your patella tendon and use it for your new ACL. My ACL was "obliterated" so my only other option was parts from a cadaver. My surgeon urged my to go with my own parts as the body tends to "accept" it (heal) quicker that way. 3. They are gonna give you this machine that you stick your leg in and the machine moves it constantly. I used that thing as much as I could. I slept in it. 4. I didn't allow myself to sit around. I stayed as active as I could on the crutches and in the brace. I actually only went to physical therapy once. Good luck with your surgery and recovery. Its definately worth it.
  2. How long (in feet or meters) is the bolt ladder & C1 crack pitch of City Park? Are 2 ropes required to rap from the top of this pitch? Thanks!
  3. Hey, saw you guys as you got back to the car. Thanks again for the last minute beta. We had a great climb as well. To add a bit to your TR: We opted to do the runnels (we took the middle of what appeared to be three options) - they were in great shape. The slabs between the 2nd and 3rd couloirs was just a bit of steepish snow seperating the couloirs. That route is awesome right now!
  4. Update: As of yesturday the route is still in EXCELLENT shape. Thanks for the TR Dustin.
  5. I got screwed with last minute work crap for Sunday. Weather looks clear though. Hopefully you guys still manage to get out there.
  6. Yep - Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are all looking like decent weather. Does anybody have a car?
  7. Hey guys, Will be back in Seattle on the 29th. No car here either. Could climb anytime on Dec. 30th through Jan 2nd.
  8. I'd be interested in this and have some Rainier experience (including winter). Please clarify your dates though...
  9. Jordan - my schedule will loosen up considerably in a couple weeks. 6th/7th is unlikely but I'll know by Sunday. Will keep you posted. - Steve
  10. I'll give you a shout within the next few days. -Steve
  11. I'm looking for someone to get out with for some moderate to increasingly difficult alpine routes this winter season. I'm experienced, train hard, and will have a lot of time off. Some routes I have in mind are the Triple Couloirs of Dragontail to the N. Face of Index. I don't have a car but I will split gas and some vehicle maintenance. I'll be able to get out once or twice over the next month and then really start hitting it hard come mid January. I live in Ballard.
  12. If you lost a nice shell on Rainier on 7/31 its with the rangers at paradise. I got the impression it would be "claimed" pretty quickly.
