I have one of last year's models that I got for a screaming deal and I'm pretty happy with it. It's pretty burly and have found "breathability" to be on par with Gore Tex (which means adequate for me). It has pit zips, which helps. My comparison is an EMS paclite shell and and older Lowe Alpine shell and I like it a lot better than either of those. Haven't had it in anything but snow/light rain and it's been plenty waterproof for those. All in all it is very well made. I'd suggest waiting for the inevitable EB holiday sales as I think full retail is paying too much. And hey, Ed Viesturs "designed" it so how bad could it be .
