  1. SO. I'll be that person, with all the shiny new gear, and no clue how to use it. I'm moving to Valdez in early December. I've climbed one pitch of ice, and loved it. WI3 with one mountaineering axe and crappy ill fitting rental plastic boots. But now! I have a big pile of new gear, and no skills to go with it. Anyone in the Valdez area want to be my mentor, and share all your ice skills? (you don't have to show me the ropes, I already know how to belay etc.) I'll bake you a pie, and be very grateful. And I promise to never whine about how cold I am. Cheers Mackenzie PS. I'm gonna miss you Portland!!!!!
  2. Hi all! New to Portland as of March-- I am employed only on Wednesdays and Thursdays until the end of September/ mid-October/ however long I can make it work... SO, looking for climbing partners with availability weekdays (or weekends too) I have no trad gear, have placed some on TR and am interested in learning more. I do have a pretty good amount of experience following multi-pitch trad, rope management, cleaning gear, even nearly hopeless over-cammed cams that walked, etc. I lead sport comfortably up to 5.8, if there are reasonably safe falls I'll hop onto up to .10a. just led a .10b, but lots of falling. follow well to .10a, occasionally make it up an .11a I have rope, draws, car. I'll be house sitting in Bremerton august 29- sept 1, so I could meet up with you seattle folks then!
  3. You've most likely given yourself neurapraxia via crush injury. meaning you have damaged the myelin that surrounds your nerve, but your actual nerve is intact. The reason I'm guessing this is because you say its tingly and you can hardly feel anything, meaning you can still feel something, meaning your nerve fibers are intact. average healing time 4-6 weeks. here: read, then definitely make your own decision as to whether or not you feel like seeing a doctor. http://www.medstudents.com.br/neuroc/neuroc4.htm
  4. got em! ty to everyone who walked by them and didn't take them! you guys rock.
  5. Help! I am dumb. I left my shoes at the crag. Ozone, near Camas WA, also near Portland OR, Friday- August 8. 5.10 galileo, size 39. oh. well. been needing a new pair anyway. ps. if you find them, they don't smell good, you probably don't want them, so you should just message me and i will buy you beer for a finders reward thanks!
