I was part of the party that climbed the day before and lost all that gear (where are you located so one of us can pick it up?). After spending about 4 hours on that ridge on the way up and 6 on the way down, you answered the biggest question of the day: was there another way to go? Since you went up through the valley to the east and down on the ridge, you can answer- which way was better? Would the east valley be passable without snow?

Experienced climber and randonee skier looking for partners. Conditions are ideal this year for less accessible routes on Mt. Hood (Cooper Spur, Wy'east, Cathedral Ridge, Sandy Glacier headwall, Elliot Glacier, etc.) so I'd like to take advantage of that and do something other than the South Side, but I'm open to easier stuff too. I was on Tom, Dick, and Harry Mtn. (west of Ski Bowl)- a few times this winter and it was awesome. I'm in very good shape and prefer to climb light and fast.
