  1. Our climb dates are scheduled for June 22-25. Have you climbed Rainier before? Do you have ice climbing or glacier experience? I mainly ask because the two guys I’m taking have minimal experience and they will be a handful for me already haha.
  2. Hey Sam, thanks for the invite but I actually already have plans to take a couple friends up the Kautz at that same time. Maybe next time! cody
  3. Climbing Liberty Ridge on Rainier June 6-9. Our third had to drop out last minute due to a job offer, and we are interested in finding a replacement if there is a good fit. We are totally okay with going as a two-man team if we think that’s the best option but open to adding a third of their climbing resume is good and personality seems like a decent fit. First time on LR for both of us, but multiple Rainier climbs via DC and Kautz for both of us as well as plenty of experience on steep alpine ice/rock/snow at altitude. Hit me up if interested and let me know your experience. We have wilderness camping reservations for a group of 3.
  4. Two of us looking for a third (third and fourth okay too) to climb the Kautz on July 5-8. Our third climber had to cancel last minute due to a career change. We are planning on taking our time to acclimate and enjoy the mountain, and we will likely carry over the DC, depending on conditions in the chute. We summitted the DC as a two-man team a couple years ago, but would prefer to have a third for this one.
  5. Hoping to make my way out to Rainier early next summer (May probably), and looking for some input on insulated jackets. I have a lightweight OR Fraction jacket ( OR Fraction Hoody ) , a MH Sub Zero Parka, and a MH sub zero vest. I am usually fine with the ultralight OR primaloft jacket down to the teens, but from what I've seen, something a little more substantial may be in order. However, the sub zero seems like overkill. Any thoughts? Maybe combining the vest and OR jacket? I'd rather not buy another jacket if I don't need to, but if anyone has high recommendations for a mid-weight insulated down/synthetic, it may be worth it.
  6. I just don't want to deal with purchasing it in British poounds, getting screwed on the conversion rate, and having to wait for and pay for customs when it comes to the US...just a huge pain. I dont know if there are any North American retailers, but I was hoping someone might have a copy. It seems to be a really good DVD so I was surprised when I couldnt find it anywhere.
  7. Anyone know where to get the Alpine Essentials DVD? It's published by the Mountaineering Council of Scotland and the British Mountaineering Council. I have found it on their websites, but I was hoping to find ANYONE selling it in the US. If anybody has a used copy they want to get rid of or if you know of a place that is selling it, let me know.
