  1. I also have a pair of Invernos I'd like to get rid of. These have been used a few times so I'd go for some bit less. Mine fit a men's 10 shoe size. They are marked 10.5 and then the Scarpa sizing but they fit someone who wears a 10 and maybe 10.5. PM if interested
  2. Billcoe- I think I've run into just about every highway patrolman in Montrose and Gunnison counties! I grew up in Montrose and had a pretty wild time with my little brother and our crazy redneck friends. I still make it back several times a year, it's beautiful country. After this past winter break I probably should add Ouray county to that list... I'm lucky I didn't get arrested a few times! Or taken home by some interesting fellows as wageslave can attest to!
  3. Wageslave may know of a better place but in the meantime if someone did feel compelled to drop this stuff off they could bring it to the Reed College Community Safety building on SE 28th just South of Steele and leave a note that it is for: Laura Freeman 970-596-3215 that way they could call me and I could come get it. The journal could also be mailed anonymously to campus mailbox 1122: 3203 SE Woodstock Blvd MS 1122 Portland, OR 97202
  4. Seriously though what the fuck? If anyone has any information on the journal it was the only sentimental thing we had up there and the one thing we wanted back.
  5. I'm headed out early Saturday to recover gear from the Tilly Jane cabin on Hood. If anyone is bored enough to want to get out and go for a hike I'll drive and buy the gas, booze, and lunch in Hood River if you bring some entertaining conversation and pack out a sleeping bag. 6. Mostly sunny my ass! Ivan, that picket was a bitch to get out of there but I have it. -Laura
  7. I lived there for a couple years recently. 1 - Lot's of great double blacks, but the snow has to be good. There has to be significant accumulation before any of the "extreme terrain" stuff is even open much less good. You can call or check online to see if any of the good stuff is open before you go. The high lift and the north face lift will get you to the top of almost everything with minimal hiking. I ski but watching my friends I'd say it's very snowboard friendly. I agree about asking/following locals so you make it back to the lifts. 2 - Kid lessons and terrain are both good. They have a cool area for kids around the peachtree lift and then green runs all over depending on how comfortable they are. 3 - There are a lot of good places to eat and good coffee. You can pick up a local paper there and get good info on where to go in town. There are also some good drinking places... Talk of the Town and Eldo included. There are some serious drinkers in CB
  8. Panos- I just mean this is what the ridge looked like 4 weeks ago: and this is what you want it to look like (these were probably taken in Feb 07?): It has a long way to go. Colin and/or Ivan I'd be up for checking out NF Thanksgiving weekend.
  9. Steeper, but it's not a rap or anything. The "drop down" isn't the problem the complete lack of snow and ice on the routes is. Here's the one pic I took Sun. Yocum looking prime...
