    Anybody have opinions on using rechargeables in headlamps in cooler weather? How is battery life and are there certain brands/types that are better than others? What inspired this Q was reading a little about this battery that was linked from the Mazama Club website:

    Wow, great answers - thanks! Karhu Guides are at the top of the list so far. Any opinions on ski length?? Would going a little shorter than my alpine skis help with downhill maneuverability or do I want the "skating" ability of going a little longer??

    Does anyone here have any insight on the best way to travel between peaks/camps in the Alaska Range? I am looking at some Karhu XCD's mounted with climbing boot compatible bindings. I would assume that skis are better than snowshoes. Any other ideas - what have you used??

    I am getting rid of a few more items from my rack: one 22cm Express Ice Screw ($25), and one each 16 & 19cm Turbo Ice Screws ($15/each) from Black Diamond. They are about 3-4 years old, in great shape and are still sharp - infrequent use and I have taken good care of them. I am also selling one Bugaboo #6 and one #4, plus an Angle #2 from Black Diamond (all 3 for $20). These pitons have never been used.

    I have a 140cm Dynex daisy chain from last year that has never been used. An ATC that's only been used a handful of times and a Petzl Tibloc (new) for sale. I can take a picture if you really need it. I am in Seattle, take paypal and will ship:

    '05-'06 BD Blizzard Harness

    This harness has been used but only infrequently over the last 3-4 years. It is in excellent shape with barely any noticeable wear including on the belay loop. I have never taken a "whipper" in it. I have just purchased a new BD harness and this one will not see any more use by me. I will also throw in one ice clipper for ice screws. $50 for it, an almost new ATC and an ice clipper. I will ship and I take paypal.

    Lost Camera on Sherpa Peak

    After ascending the north ridge of Sherpa Peak last Fall just before the snow started, I lost my camera somewhere in the first 1000' of descent down the S (maybe more SE) gully. It is a black Samsung in a red neoporene pouch about the size of your hand. Can offer reward of beer or cash!!
