  1. Jer made this up after our trip over Crossover Pass two weeks ago. The first chance for water would be the snow-slopes leading down from the initial notch where you leave the Slesse Creek descent ("Critical Routefinding 1"). These face North, and although we easily avoided the snow, I think it'd be a pretty rare year when there wasn't some left. It was pretty slimy as we dropped down from the "Wooded Stump" to the "Orange Scree"; if you were hard up, you could squeeze some water from the scunge... We had camped (en route to the N Rib) roughly where the "Orange Scree" meets the sub-alpine, and had no problems finding (slowly) flowing water there. I imagine those little streams flow all season.
  2. Have you seen this? Backcountry Rockclimbing in Southern Arizona I've never been, so I'm not sure how complete it is, but it looks like a good start. Will require a bit of printing though... J
  3. I saw the topo for this posted on www.squamishclimbing.com and thought I'd drum up a bit of noise. Powaqqatsi Topo Seven new pitches in an area of the Chief not many have visited. All cruxes are bolted, but bring a light rack with a couple of hand-sized pieces for the last pitch. A 60m rope is enough to get you down, but watch your ends - some raps are pretty stretched. The route is still a little scruffy in the middle, but should clean up quickly with traffic. Lots of potential to continue above the terrace... Check it out before the rains put an end to summer! J
