  1. I just spoke with Beacon Rock State Park. They are planning to open the south side to rock climbing on July 15th. This is not a set date, just a date they are working toward. She did mention the rock will not open early this year

  2. First of all, there is no reason to have daisy chains hanging from your harness while sport climbing.

Unless you are lazy and are mostly a trad climber.

why would a trad (free) climber have daisy chains on? Unless you are lazy and mostly a aiding while free climber.

Daisy chains are used for various aspects of climbing. I use mine for clipping to an anchor. I don’t aid climb much so I don’t use them for that. I also have been known to clip bolts and place gear all in the same day. The laziness I was referring to was my own. In my opinion, there is no need to remove my daisy chain simply because I am about to climb a sport climb.

  3. Tyrannical according to who, Scott? Lots of people think Obama is tyranical.

Heard this morning on Glenn Beck:

"we need to have a revolution...peaceful of course...before your freedom is taken away forever!"

    Any takers?

I don’t remember Glen Beck or Michael (wacko nutjob) Savage asking for a peaceful revolution when Bush was slowing “taking away your freedom”. What a bunch of hypocrites.

  4. #1) I think it is a little hazy when you talk about foreigners' rights being violated as per our constitution

#2) I was busy doing the whole protection from the "foreign threats thing." Couldn't really keep up too much on the goings on back here. I thought you would have covered it.

#3) Bush wasn't even impeached. Remember that whole, "diplomacy first, ass kicking second" thing? Kinda important.

Agreed on your first point. It is a little hazy. I also think that was the point of Gitmo. If they are not being held on American soil, they will not be given the same rights. I think that policy is lame. They are humans first and foremost. Second, they are completely 100% innocent until our government brings charges against them and finds them guilty in a court of law.

“Innocent until proven guilty” is the foundation upon what our judicial system, foreign or at home was built upon. When you hold someone indefinitely just on suspicion alone, I believe you travel down a very slippery slope. Wait until they come and get you solely on suspicion. You will not like it.

I believe our county needs to lead by example. Therefore, treat everyone the same. Everyone.

You are right Bush was not impeached. That is because the democrats are just as corrupt. Nancy Pelosi should be behind bars, just like Cheney. They did not even try, even after Mr. Bush admitted to breaking the law (wire taps). All of Washington is corrupt. That is the problem.

    Divide and conquer. Its working.

    2) If ANY president defies the constitution, he will meet the consequences. Not necessarily my me, but there are plenty of people that are not willing to let the constitution cast aside like it is outdated; on the contrary, it is more applicable now than ever.

You sure about that? I seem to recall the last eight years pretty well. In my humble opinion, Mr. Bush and his team of elitists have shredded the constitution, like Gitmo for example. Mr. Bush has set aside human rights for profiteering. Yet where are these “plenty of people that are not wiling to let the constitution be cast aside”? Are you one of them?

  6. The premiums are calculated primarily based upon your age. For anyone over 40 you'd have to pay over $200 per person. plus read the fine print. they do not cover medications the way you think. the meds are going towards your deductible, but you have to pay out of pocket. ergo if you have any serious illness you are fucked regardless. one chemo tx will run you over 5k a pop. new tx for RA costs 3K and you have to get injections 2 times per month, that's 6K- can you pay that much?

    So, is that bad?

    Poll

I have to say this: your avatar excludes you from any serious consideration. And one must wonder why, as a Bush-hater, you'd conjoin your identity with his.

“Irony, it seems, is not without a sense of humor”

    Poll

I noticed that in the Gas Prices thread. In one Kaskadshyjkozak insults Hummer owners for excessive consumption and then later ridicules the suggestion of reducing our consumption. If I had the patience I'd support that with some quotes. The Devil's Advocate is strong in this one.

    Nonsense.

I consistently hold the position that we - ALL OF US -- can and should be less wasteful.

But when the same cast of characters comes out with their pontificating extremist message (usually involving social engineering by the force of government), I reject and oppose them. I always find it ridiculous and hypocritical for the same cast of characters who dictate what others should do (by force of law or high taxes) but are willing to change little themselves.

Moreover, I do not respect blind, baseless suggestions. I do respect full cost-benefit analyses and reasonable, well-thought out solutions, which, BTW, are usually "nuanced" and a mixed bag.

Very interesting response KKK. Let me be the first person to respond to you like you respond to most.

    STFU n00b!

    Have nice one.
