  1. Tears cover the key board. I am at a loss for words. My heart is broken. In all the sadness just remember there are two still up on the mountain. I pray they make it back safely. To the family of the loved one who lost his life just remeber he was taken doing what he loved most, climbing. The climber compassion on this forum is incredible and it shows how tight knit the clmbing community is. I am now off to get on my knees to pray for the safe return of the other two.
  2. With all I have read over the last couple of days on this forum, from the expert climbers, These guys were top notch and knew what they were doing. In their notes they stated their escape route was the South side. In putting all this together they summited and are on the south side. Remember with all the climbs these guys have made they have the expertise to survive hood. We will see them alive to hear there stories and know exactly what transpired. Keep the faith and continue to pray.
  3. Just curious. If the weather broke wouldn't they head up to the summit and down the south side? For those who climb Hood often would it be easier to summit and go down the south side or to climb down the North face from where they found the snow cave? Looks to me like the South side is the easy side to get down. Again let me state I have not climbed Hood so I am just curious. With all the developments lets stay positive. The guys need our prayers and positive vibes. Here is east coast sending our prayers. Wayne New Jersey
  4. Great point I will sign off also after many hours on. May God bring them home safe. The east coast sends positive vibes!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. I have been glued to this forum and I read in one of the past post that there wer 2 guys who looked to climb today and had received permission. Anyone else remember seeing that post? I pray though that it is two of the three that they are looking for. This site is great with upto the minute info.
  6. Live on the east coast but brother in Ashland Oregon who has climbed hood many times and most peaks in Oregon over 8,000. I feel for these families who have their loved ones up there right now. We all need to be in prayer for the 3 climbers and leave all the negitive B.S. out of this forum!! They are coming out of this alive and will be out there again to do what they love most, CLIMB. Positive vibes to all. They are alive and will be rescued. THE FOLKS IN THIS FORUM ARE INCREDIBLE. My hats off to all search and rescue up on the mountain looking for these guys.
