my 14 yr old son and i are climbing mt adams in the first week in july. will we need crampons to summit? we plan on 2 day hike. any other tips would be helpful also. thanks.

i am looking to talk with an experienced climber that knows mt adams. i am headed up with my 14yr old son. i have questions re: type of boots/permits/roping up/possible crevasses in july/mtn sickness? and a few other questions. email me if you have time for a conversation. i really appreciate any help. thanks. we live in wisconsin and are headed out this summer.

i posted on the newbie board, but haven't located 2 climbers that helped me on 6/11/06. i am looking for "charlie frederick and mitch". i met them on the trail to mt hood summit. my photos did not turn out, and we said would share pictures. we enjoyed a great (first-time) climb and summitted at 9:45am. if anyone can help me locate these 2 guys, i would appreciate it. i believe they are teachers from the portland area....thanks.

i flew in from wisconsin and went the the mountain that night. i met them on the trail..i was a first-time climber. they were too. it was a great day, but i have no photos to remeber it by...

hi pug..thanks for the good info. we are planning on the lunch counter as the overnight stop. would your recommended route be the same as the mazamas route? will it be more like a long hike as opposed to climbing? thanks again. rich and sam.
