Anybody have any route photos of the crux of the sultana ridge (Mt. Foraker)? I've read about a 55 degree slope section and I think I've seen a photo of it (in my previous Foraker message - how many days it takes to climb). Is it knife edge cornice? From the photos I've scene I can't see what's on the other side of this slope. Is it a drop into oblivion?

This is a bloody joke. I find it funny how when you see a fee increase OK, at most 25%. These guys are trying to make a gain of 500%? I never thought I would see the day that capitalists would expoit mountaineers, to make gains. Mt. Logan here we come. By the way - has this fee hike been approved yet?

Anybody interested in some easy going winter mountaineering practice in the columbia icefields this winter? I'm practicing for a potential denali expedition 2008 season. I'm thinking the A-A Col route...lesser avalanche risk than silverhorn.

Thanks guys for all this info. The photos are superb. The one thing I question is how you get on the ridge proper. From when I was climbing the west butt - it looked avalanche prone to get on the corner of crosson. What's the safest way to get to the main ridge? I remember hearing constant avalanche sound...like a wet slide, kind of like a waterfall...I could have sworn it was comming from Crosson.

Anybody down for some winter hiking and camping in the Adirondaks? I'll drive.

How many days do you guys recommend for Mount Foraker? Route: Sultana Ridge Month: May I was thinking 30 days. Is that excessive for that time of year?
