  1. Interested in doing Rainier next weekend. My original plan was to spend 4 days skiing the Emmons route if I can find a competent partner, but I'd also be willing to do DC Thursday-Fri. I've got training in crevasse rescue (experience with both rope team and 2-man crevasse rescue) Avalanche level 2 course, EMT course. Conservative and safety conscious. Most of my climbing has been ski oriented (Shasta 6X by various routes, Bagley Icefield weeklong trip, Vatnajokull Icecap trip, South Georgia traverse.) Give me a shout if you're interested. 2. Anyone interested in Rainier Sept 1-3? DC or Emmons. I'm originally from Seattle but now in Boston. Have glacier travel and crevasse rescue experience (http://www.pbase.com/kayak777/galleries) I'm bringing skis but its unlikely I'll want to use them above camp Muir.
  3. I might be interested if I can find a cheap flight. I've taken mountaineering and crevasse rescue classes and done a few weeklong ski mountaineering trips: http://www.pbase.com/kayak777/alaska_august_2004&page=all I've also skied from Camp Muir a number of times when I lived in Seattle. Already in good shape. As I'm on the east coast, pretrip get togethers would be a problem. It would be good to review rope travel and crevasse rescue ahead of time. Maybe do that Friday and climb Sat/Sun? Have any of you climbed in the cascades before?
