El Rito also has some quality sport climbing. And the rock is NOT basalt. It is a quartzite conglomerate! Very interesting climbing on pockets and cobbles.

I will be in the Cordillera Blanca for most of June. I am looking for someone interested in climbing Alpamayo amoung other peaks. PM me if you are going and need a partner or are willing to climb with me. B
