I love to drink at a nice bivy high up somewhere. Alcohol has a wonderful effect the higher you go!

...from the lodge to Rhododendron: 10,000 vertical feet over 11 miles!!!
This sounds awesome, but my math doesn't get me to 10,000 vert. Am I missing something?

why would a recreational forcast be better? the weather is the weather.
True, but aside from the 'recreationalists' around Mt Hood, there aren't that many more people that care what the weather is.

Greentrails #462 is a good one. It shows the most popular routes, topo, UTMs and it's pretty. There are many others, but I like this one.
Edit: Forgive me. 462 S is the one I'd recommend.

...I'll be the funny guy who drinks alot.
That's all that's required brother!!
But more to the point. Yes, climb as much as possible. But each time you climb, try and do something different; hopefully slightly more difficult. And as you put it, climb with others. Make sure you have a good comfort level that they are safe, and choose a route that will push your personal envelope a little more. Just make sure THEY are completely aware of YOUR skill level. There is nothing worse than someone bragging about their abilities and then learning that it's all hot air when it really matters.
Of all that, just keep pushing it. But safely.

My roomate, Chad, just wanted to say 'thank you' for going the extra mile and returning his ID to him that you came across on Hood this weekend. You will be paid in Good Karma a thousand times over......
