"I mentioned tonight between 6-6:30, maybe later, or tomorrow" Interesting that you leave out a few minor details... Of our email exchanges, I sent the last email at 1 pm yesterday confirming 6:30 pm last night since you were vague about which day you wanted to meet. I didn't hear anything back until the 7 pm phone call. You never replied to my last email nor showed up at 6:30 nor expressed any consideration for my time by calling before 6:30 to tell me you were coming later. So how was I supposed to know what was going on? People flake out all the time and express interest in something then change their mind. In the interim someone else called, came over and bought the gaiters. One simple, short phone call from you would have averted any inconvenience for both of us. But don't let the facts get in the way of your argument.

I've got an old self-inflating pad that can be inflated without an apparent problem but in the morning it is almost flat. I submerged it in the tub after inflating it but didn't see any bubbles. I'd hate to buy a new one if it can be easily fixed. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I stayed at Hotel Continental in July 2004. Nice, cheap rooms, shared bath w/OK hot water (those electric deals that only heat the water on super low flow), could store gear when I went to Rurrenebaque for a week. Maybe they have rooms w/ private bath. I paid ~30 Bs/night. It's on Illampu north of the witches market and next to a traffic circle. I highly recommend the Amazon trips out of Rurre if you have time although this time of year is super hot and rainy.

Is the snowfield above Wing Lake worthy? Forecast high FLs this weekend - sounds like potential for lots of postholing. Thx. Jon

I just posted an ad for an Osprey Aether 90, men's medium. It may fit even if you are 6'1" because your torso length is probably more important than your overall height.

Men's medium, 5500 cu. in., brand new, never used, still has tags, $190/BO. PM if interested. Cheers. Jon

Just confirmed a flight to Buenos Aires, leaving Seattle December 5, arriving BA on the morning of December 6. As it now stands, the plan is to check out BA for a few days then either fly or take a ~14 hour bus ride to Mendoza. Estimate 2 weeks to climb RT from Mendoza, +/- depending on weather, etc. Planning to stay for a couple of weeks after the climb, leaving from Santiago January 8, arriving Seattle around noon January 9. I've resigned myself to soloing but give a shout if anyone is interested. Jon

Thinking of the Normal Route this December and looking for a partner. Have summitted Denali via the West Buttress, Kilimanjaro, Ishinca (5530 meters, Peru), and the WA volcanoes. Please PM if interested. Jon
