  1. Nope, been hanging around for 4 1/2 years now. Actually it was kind of nice the 2 hours you went away and the rest of us didn't have to hear your negative comments.
  2. I believe the families know exactly who the searchers found. The Sheriff is the only with holding this information to the public. I knew something was up today when the live feed from the Northside of the mountain stopped. They continued to broadcast live from the southside, you had to know something was going on. Seems the media is being pretty respectful of the situation right now. Else, they would have been talking about the radio chatter that would have indicated they found a body or second cave. There was no mention of this until after the Chinook had launched to pick-up the guys. You know by then the rescuer(s) down where the caves were located were already on their way back up to catch their ride home.
  3. If you look at the photo of the footprints headed up the mountain from the area of the snowcave, it looks like there are two sets of steps at times. I can zoom in on the steps and on the upper part of the mountain there is a little light on them. Pretty sure there are two sets there, but I am possitive there there are two sets of tracks from ice axes digging in. The ice axe prints are two close together to be from one climber. I also don't think that if Kelly would have climbed that slope, that he would have down climbed it. Once you make that commitment, you are not turning around. We all know downclimbing is harder, even more so if you have to self belay. At that point you would definetly take the easy way down.
  4. Body is still on the mountain according to someone who is a brother of one of the upper mountain rescuers and is on this forum.
  5. That would make sense, but if Kelly was unable to move because of suffering from exhaustion, I could see the other two going for help. Their escape route was the Cooper Spur and they could have belayed each other. Perhaps they were moving fast and made a mistake and fell/slid down the mountain. Perhaps they got lower and got lost and could not find their car or shelter. No one has said whether the other two were carrying cell phones as well, but it would be a good chance that they wouldn't work down lower on the mountain. However, the footprints indicate that they went up and tried a descent of the southside. My experience has been that there is no problem with cell phone coverage on the southside. Really hard to believe that the other guys did not make contact with anyone. Once you get below Crater Rock, you can glissade all the way to the lodge. I think they should check around the fumaroles on the southside and down low or around any crevasses on the north/northeast side.
  6. Sounds like it was just Kelly's injury and that there was no urgency in getting help. Otherwise, I think he would have called 911 instead of his dad. All we know is that he called and said he was held up in a snow cave with his buddies descending for help. Never heard any other information. You would think that he might of said how and what was hurt, which way the guys headed down, and what kind of gear/supplies he had. Not sure if his call was cut-off or something. As methodical as they were about leaving notes, you would think some information would have been passed on during the phone call.
  7. Up coming press conference. Minutes away.
  8. 5 Dead and 2 missing now on Everest. Turning out to be a deadly week on the mountain as the weather has changed. Good thing Annabelle made it among the first groups to summit.
  9. Today, 2 dead and 1 climber missing on Everest. Most not be as easy as some here think. Reported by Everestnews.com
  10. She's hot, she thinks other women are hot, hell....is it too late to sign up to be part of her Elbrus trip.
  11. Dru, you forgot to mention Jon Krakauer!!! He was in the exact situation 8 years ago. He weaseled a trip to Everest and then exploited the deaths of his team members. Even so much so that he weaseled another trip, this time to Mt. Vinson and this time everyone got to see just how much of an ass he is right on tape.
  12. I have been MIA for awhile...is he locked up?
  13. This just in, Annabelle and her entire Chilean team made it to the top about 1:00 Nepal time. Good for her.
  14. You'll shoot your eye out kid!!!
  15. He can build himself a panic room. Then stay in there for a week until he is sure they are gone. You know, violent crimes dropped dramatically when Texas started giving just about anybody who wanted one a concealed weapon permit. Also, you don't hear about tourist in Florida getting killed, raped, and kidnapped anymore. You just tell them you are a tourist and they ask how many concealed permits you would like. It is human nature to fear the unknown. If you don't know if a guy is packing, then you probably will think twice about screwing with him. If MC comes off the trail with a big Desert Eagle strapped to her leg, I would think the hooligan would choose to pick another victim.
