  1. Still got em?
  2. Sounds like either snap or zip, at least I know it's removable. I'll just have to call up MH for a replacement. I think you have the SL jacket, here's the SL parka I just bought.
  3. Here's the deal - I just bought a Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero parka from a guy but he says he lost the hood. I thought the hood on the parka wasn't removable. Is it? It's the 2003 model. Gotta know before I send the money off and get jipped on something that wasn't described accurately.
  4. Nope, back to lurkdom I go!
  5. Thanks all for the pics. Decided to just send a guidebook along with the sis because although a photo with both peaks proves it's not the same mountain, it doesn't prove which one is which. I thought the whole thing was funny and just decided to send a photo along in the first place for the teacher's knowledge, thought he might be interested in knowing the textbook was wrong and see the real Mt. Baker, when Shuksan is obviously not a volcano. Whatever. I got irked when he looked at my photos of two obviously very different mountains and decided they were the same one (even after reading my note which said that I have climbed both several times - and still thinks I'm wrong!), causing my sister to think I was pulling a fast one on her. That's the thing, she doubts me now because of a dumbass ignorant teacher. Actually I think she really believes me but just thinks I'm pulling a prank. Oh well... Thanks all for the photos. BTW contrary to popular opinion I'm a chick, not a guy. Sorry to disappoint!
  6. Here's the deal - was thumbing through my little sis's WA state history textbook when I came upon a photo of Shuksan from Picture Lake - cool, but the caption under it said it was Baker! So I grabbed a few of my photos of Baker and Shukshan and sent em off to school along with a note to prove it was wrong... After reading my note and looking at the photos her dumbass teacher decided they were the same frickin mountain, because of some same "hole at the top" WTF??? So I'm trying to find a pic of both Shuksan and Baker together. I've only been able to find small sh!tty thumbs so far, need printout quality. Good enough for an idiot to see the difference.
  7. 5'10", 135, SWF loves long walks on the beach.... uh, sorry wrong forum. Tall and skinny, looking for a better-fitting pair of shell pants. I've tried women's Columbia Titanium, and a pair of men's Mtn Hardwear FTX pants. Both were too short, and men's pants fit like I'm carrying a load. I've got a pair of Helly Hansen boarding pants that fit like a dream, but I haven't been able to find anything comparable for climbing. Is it just a matter of finding a tall size in women's pants? Suggestions, fellow beanpoles?
  8. Thanks for the heads-up on the Annapurna, will definitely check it out. Have used a betamid before, kicks ass in appropriate weather but am looking for an expedition tent. Thanks for the beta...
  9. Anyone got one of these guys? Weighing in at just six lb/10 oz, for a four-season two-person tent it's gotta be skimping on something. Any problems with waterproofing, durability, etc? How's it stand up to nonstop wind? For $400 it better be the real deal... Looking for a new tent, the weight factor on this one is tempting. Or should I just stick with the classics, NF Mtn 25 or Mtn Hardwear Trango? MSR Fury
